The Finnish Food Authority’s vision, “Finland is a pioneer in responsible food production,” encapsulates the agency’s purpose within the food system. Its area of responsibility comprises a broad range of activities that promote the health of people, animals, and plants, support the vitality of agriculture and rural areas as well as develop and maintain information systems serving the food and agriculture sector.

Sustainability and responsibility are integral to the Finnish Food Authority’s strategic objectives, operational development goals, and mission. Our responsible way of operating is guided by the Authority’s core values: working together, being solution-oriented and acting reliably.
