African swine fever was found in Virolahti in Southeast Finland. The Finnish Food Authority established an infected zone in the area and defined a core zone around the location where the disease was found.
The established outbreak affects the export of pork and pork products outside the EU. Exports to EU countries (internal market trade) can continue normally from outside the restricted zone. The Finnish Food Authority recommends suspending the export of pork and pork products to non-EU countries until the export conditions have been confirmed.
