The Finnish Food Authority reports annually on its sustainability and responsibility work in accordance with the State Treasury’s guidelines (VK/3503/2024). The sustainability report describes the impact and effectiveness of the Finnish Food Authority’s operations from the perspectives of society, sustainable development and responsibility. The Finnish Food Authority aims to increase its handprint and reduce its footprint. The positive impacts of the operations are assessed in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, the report presents the achievement of annually set goals and the success of their implementation.
The Finnish Food Authority’s sustainable development theme group, composed of experts from different departments, is responsible for the content of the sustainability report. The Finnish Food Authority’s management team approves the report and reviews the annual activities related to sustainability development.
