South Africa requires an import permit for dogs and cats and negative results from blood tests for certain diseases (Brucella canis, Trypanosoma evansi, Babesia gibsoni, Dirofilaria immitis, Leishmania) or alternatively guarantees by the authorities in the country of departure (=Finland) that the country is free from these diseases. However, Finland does not have official status as being free from these diseases.
