Finnish Food Authority operates partly as reference laboratory for sensory testing on food. This activity includes, for instance development and harmonisation of sensory methods, and advising. Finnish Food Authority also performs sensory evaluations, for instance in meat inspection.
Finnish Food Authority participates in international work to develop sensory method standards, for example in Nordic Committee on Food Analysis (NMKL), International Organization for Standardization (ISO), and International Dairy Federation (IDF).
